Nick K. – Roofer
Nick began his Jiu Jitsu journey about 10 months ago, weighing nearly 300 lbs. Being a professional roofer, Nick knew that his weight could cause problems and lead to unsafe situations. Since starting Jiu Jitsu, Nick has dropped to 250 lbs, won 6 gold medals in Jiu Jitsu competitions around Texas, and his confidence has shot through the roof! (but that’s okay, he can fix the roof)
Nick’s ultimate goal is to reach 225 lbs mark, which he is well on his way to achieving and maintaining.

Ed R. – Crane Operator
Ed began training Jiu Jitsu in the early 2000’s, then transition to an more MMA style form of grappling white a making a short run at an MMA career. After life got in the way, Ed began to train less and less – then not at all. He went from a super fit athlete to a pre-diabetic 287 lb worker bee who’s at risk of having a heart attack.
Ed decided he had enough and wanted to take control of his life again, so he walked through the doors of Insight BJJ and put it all on the line. Just a few months in and Ed has lost over 50 lbs and found some Jiu Jitsu competition success.
Do you think you could benefit from BJJ too?

Nicholas R. – Fire Fighter
Nicholas and his wife started training at Insight BJJ to have a healthy activity they could do together. It was tough to fit into his schedule, but he made it work. At the time, Nicholas was a delivery driver working 10-12 hour shifts. Nicholas felt far away from the college athlete he once was, and had a desire to start a new career as a Fire Fighter.
Through training Jiu Jitsu and some minor tweaks to his diet, Nicholas’ cardio and confidence shot up and he went from 230 lbs to 190 lbs over the next 6 months, allowing him to qualify for the Fire Fighting Academy. Nicholas is now a full time Fire Fighter in Hays County… How can BJJ make your life better?
