Such a great time at our newest affiliate, all the way in Somerset, Kentucky! Elise, Walt and I flew across the country this weekend to put on the first seminar offered at Insight BJJ of Somerset and it was a blast. We made lots of new friends and even a new black belt buddy, Sandro. If you find yourself in this neck of the woods, come train with this crew!
Bastrop County’s Best Martial Arts 2022!!
We are so proud to have won Bastrop County’s Best award for Martial Arts Team for the second year in a row! Professor Alex Henley was also runner up in the category of Physical Fitness Instructor, above all other martial arts instructors! We’re so proud to have grown the Jiu Jitsu in Bastrop County over the last decade and we’re in it for the long haul. Over that decade, several other options have popped up, and we truly appreciate that you’ve kept Team Insight at the top! We believe that we’ve earned that trust with all of our accomplishments and hope we can continue to earn your trust year after year.
Professor Alex takes Nogi open weight gold!
Black belt, nogi, open weight
After battling some minor health issues over the last year and a half, Professor Alex jumped back into competition this weekend at the IBJJF Austin Open!
Due to an injured finger, Professor Alex decided to forgo the gi division, but stayed in the nogi division. Unfortunately, there was nobody in his weight class, so he was only able to compete in the open weight division. There, he had two matches; the first he won by arm bar and the second he won by refs decision.
“It feels good to be back at it again…“ Said Professor Alex.“
I’m excited to grow our competition team again, post Covid.“ he added.
