Four of our six children have been students of Alex Henley and Insight BJJ since it opened in August 2014. Besides the convenience of taking all of our children to one activity, the classes have taught them a significant amount of skill in a very short time. This is due to Alex’s skill, gift for teaching children, and his expectation that the children respect themselves, the sport, and other students at all times. The resulting self-respect and confidence that comes from the children meeting these expectations is a valuable character-building tool that has all but disappeared from other sports, where talent tends to overshadow hard work. But all of these benefits would mean nothing if the kids didn’t enjoy the sport and have a blast in class! Alex’s sense of humor and his ability to relate to the kids are what keep them coming back every week. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend Insight BJJ in Bastrop.

I have wanted to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for at least 5 years. I attended my first session tonight and it is way beyond my expectations! I felt comfortable with everyone and got an amazing workout! I’m so excited to begin this journey.
